WI Teamsters endorse Barrett for Walker recall

14 months and 900,938 signatures ago.
In the run-up to frequent liar Gov. Scott Walker's Waterloo recall on June 5, there's a Democratic primary on May 8. Our Wisconsin brothers and sisters just announced they're throwing their support behind Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Barrett's main opponent is Kathleen Falk, a former Dade County executive.

Tony Cornelius, president of Joint Council 39, said,
Tom Barrett will turn Wisconsin around and restore not only the bargaining rights of Public Employees but will restore the rights of all working men and women in our great state.
Tom Millonzi, secretary-treasurer of Teamster Local 200 in Milwaukee, said,
Tom’s our guy!
We are proud to put our support behind him. His views and actions throughout his career have aligned with the Wisconsin citizens  he represented, at every level of government he served.
We know your big question is "What are the chances Walker will lose?"

We'd have to say pretty good, so far. Walker spends almost all of his time traveling around the country picking up checks from his rich friends for his campaign and his criminal defense fund. Though he's spent millions on television ads, he hasn't improved his poll numbers at all. Wisconsin's worst-in-the-nation economy isn't helping him, either.

And as Millonzi points out, Barrett is neck and neck with Walker before spending any money on television.

Should Barrett lose, we're confident Wisconsin labor will unite behind the Democratic candidate. Teamsters will be on the ground making sure that each and every one of their brothers and sisters gets to the polls. It's time to send this nightmare of a governor packing!
